Whenever possible pages on this web site have been designed in
a consistent manor to make navigation as straightforward as possible.

or concern with the use of the web site then please contact
Network Chico immediately.
And as always your feedback
is greatly appreciated. Consider joining the Network
Chico forums
where you can read or post messages, comments, questions, feedback
and concerns.
Page structure and design:
The addition of php to all new pages allow for inclusion of
a text menu on the left side of most pages.
At the top of every page you will
see the Network Chico logo
which can be clicked to return to the home
page. Below the logo you will find a graphic which describes
the central purpose of the page. On this page it is the 'Help'
graphic. Below the graphic you will find general links to the
major sections of the web site, the main tool bar, followed by
the content of the page including links embedded in the text
and other various kinds of information. Further down some pages
there will be more graphics on the left side which are links
to other pages and each will have a description directly to the
right.
At some point you will encounter the first horizontal rule
on the page and below it there will be more clickable graphics.
On many pages the first horizontal rule will be followed by a
vertical list of graphics such as the ones on this page; Forums | Mailing
list | Send email online
| Site referral.
Another horizontal rule will further divide the pages and near the bottom of the page you will
find a horizontal group of graphics which are links to the major
sections of the web site. These are Home
| About | Services
| Support | Security
| Resources | Contact.
Directly below this row of buttons you will see a copyright notice
and below that links to the Network
Chico Home page, Privacy
policy, Search and Site map, as well as to this page.
Below these links you may find another group of ads
or a banner. While not every page will exactly follow this structure
most will and whenever possible the rest will be as similar as
possible.
Site structure and design:
The web site contains many internal links that go directly
to index pages. However it is possible to go directly to the
major sections of the site without the need to type the absolute
address. For example, to get to this page you could enter the
address http://www.netchico.com/help/
into your browser or you could more efficiently enter www.netchico.com/help to get to the
same page. This holds true for each of the distinct areas of
the web site. After the initial address of http://www.netchico.com/
you can proceed to type the name of the folder containing the
area and it's pages.
Navigation:
In general all of the green graphics with the exception of
the one directly below the Network Chico
logo near the top of the page will
be buttons. If you roll (mouse) your cursor over a graphic the
cursor should indicate if it is a link or not. The Network
Chico logo near the top
will always take you back to the home
page. The other graphics or buttons will take you to the location
of the web site indicated by the graphic or its description to
the right.
Some users such as Windows and Linux users may notice that
on some pages they are unable to use their right mouse button.
An attempt to right-click produces a message that the graphics
on the page have been protected against right-clicking. While
this will prevent users from choosing to open links in a new
window it does not prevent the ability to copy text from the
pages. Simply highlight the text normally and use the edit menu
to select copy.
Throughout the web site there are two distinct kinds of links:
- Internal links will take
you to different pages within the Network
Chico web site. Almost all of these links will open
the new page in the same browser window you are using. The most
obvious exception to this is in the security
section. The various security
pages open in a new browser window, which is indicated on the
page.
- External links are those that take you to web pages
that are not a part of the Network Chico
web site. Whenever possible these links will be set to open in
a new browser window. The purpose of this is so that the user
can view the information on the external web site without losing
their place on the Network Chico
web site. One place where this is not the case are the Google
search boxes on several pages. The search results will appear
in the same browser window which essentially places the user
on the google.com web site.
For additional ease of navigation users may benefit from use
of the site map. There is also a
new graphical site map available and
as always any feedback
on the usefulness of this or any other page will be highly appreciated.
Be advised that this page (graphical site
map) can take a few moments to download, especially on slower
(dial-up) Internet connections. Users are always encouraged to
use the search feature in order
to find what they are looking for on the Network
Chico web site.
