Small, fast and efficient Zip utility for compression and
decompression of files and directories in Windows. FreeZip
(250K) integrates with Windows Explorer and uses file associations
and context menus to zip or unzip files, including long file
names and subdirectories. If you know how to use Windows Explorer
then you do not have to learn anything new to use FreeZip
(250K). The setup is a single-click process and there are no
options or settings involved. The manual is in English, Japanese,
Polish, Italian and Swedish. The FreeZip
uninstaller will leave no trace of the program on your system
if you decide not to use it.
FreeZip (250K) version 1.4.9 includes
updated decompression code and a new format of documentation.
If you want to protect your zip files with a password download
the encryption patch (111K). To create a self-extracting
zip file get the SFX patch (91K).

Since the introduction of Windows ME all Microsoft Windows
operating systems including XP Home and Pro have had unzipping
capability built in. Simply select the zipped file, right click
on it and choose 'Extract All...' from the menu. Then just follow
the prompts of the "compressed folders extraction wizard."
